It's Time to Grow

Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.

  • If possible, find a local church where you can worship God and meet other believers. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
  • Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Worda. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
  • Though baptism in itself does not give salvation, it is commanded by Christ as a public proclamation of your faith, so get baptized when possible.
  • Tell other people about your new faith in Christ.

aColossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Getting Started in God's Word, the Bible

Below are some suggestions and resources in regard to reading the Bible..

  • To learn who Jesus is and what He represents, I recommend you pray for God to reveal Himself to you, and read the book of John from start to finish.
  • If you don't have a physical Bible, or you would like to use a very good Bible research tool, a great free resource is BibleGateway.com. Here you can search the Bible for words and phrases, and you have many different translations and languages to choose from.
